   Iraq chose the democratic way after the year of 2003, it was regarded an opportunity for Iraqi people who lived for long period expanded for (1400 year) under the comprehensive regime, so it was their opportunity to be the political decision to judge themselves, so it was our duty to operate all the powers with each others (people, government, civil society organization) to protect democracy, because it was the best way to develop Iraq.  

  Shaaub magazine held its workshop about democracy, and it was attended by number of press media men, and they expressed about their  opinion .

  From  my reading to the history I found ALmaamoon epoch had the feature of democracy , because of the culture and opinion  freedom that has been found at that time ,the proof of  this  the  foredoom of  religious practice of different religion in addition the prosperity of the wisdom house ,this was one of the most important feature of democracy , the question here how we could protect the democracy  in Iraq that appeared after the year 2003 ,I thought the protection of democracy was not only the responsible of  authority , it was the responsible  of citizen and civil society .

  In the beginning I would like to refer to the question , if the democracy  in Britain  was protected  by its people and its practice , who will  protect  the democracy in Iraq ?

  To answer this  question we need ,to analyze in Iraq , we have more than 6100  civil society organization ,only 300 organization have an active role ,but the role of others were disable , because of  the absence of the educated class outside the country , democracy was not just to give an opinion, but there must be listener to what you have been said .

  I want to refer to the dangerous challenge that will face us on 2011, that witnessed the withdraw of the foreign force , who will protect democracy ?  Was it the role of the political elites? I did not think so  ,because they are preoccupied  with the exercise of authority ,and not protected democracy .

  According to the speech of Khasan , about the role of citizen was disable , I saw the conscious or the awareness  of the citizen was disable not his  role, the citizen could freely criticize the role of the authority .

   We couldn’t take democracy from the political side only , but it was determined  by the demands , let him  pass , let him work , let him creates .

I saw the role of the civil society was more important in protecting democracy in addition to the role of the government , but here we must focus on the aware of these organization in discussion and holding  workshop to aware the role of society and people in protecting democracy in Iraq .

Shaaub  organization could by the continuity of  work  to develop its self  ,by publishing its monthly issue of Shaaub magazine and holding symposium and workshop .

Hsahim ALmosawy / Iraqi association of defence about journalist rights  :

 We must speak about reality and did not deny the  active role of Islamic current  , Iraqi people need to liberal Islamic current   .

   Democracy in Iraq was distorted ,because it was spreading vertically and not horizontally.
